What would happen if the hydraulic system of our backhoe began to fail? Well we simply could not do our job, so it is important to have 100 percent taking care that the parts that comprise it have adequate maintenance. To achieve this you only have to review these points:
Check the oil
Check if it is the right one for your equipment and that its index of viscosity is correct, this will lengthen the useful life of the machine.
Make sure the pump works well
In case of having the rubberized valve, check the oil and control the oxidation state of it, it is also important to check the pistons and gears to change any part if necessary.
Also, check the breathing tubes to avoid cavitations problems; If it is already present, you can change the type of oil for one with less viscosity or with a lower freezing point.
Increases the performance of the hydraulic cylinder
By performing an inspection you can find leaks that can affect the speed and performance of the equipment,. It is also important to perform a Rod straightness test and to prevent the weight from falling on the rod joints when bending the rods. Avoid unnecessary stress!
Last but not least: the filters
The filters help you to prevent contaminants from entering your equipment’s hydraulic system, affect the quality of the fluids and, consequently, the performance of our machine. It is important to make sure that you are using the proper ones and change them every 500 hours approximately, not until after the bypass valve has opened.
But remember, if you are not going to use them, do not remove them from their packaging, this way you will prevent them from being contaminated before placing them in the machine.
We hope that these tips will help you to have your backhoe in optimal conditions, extending its useful life and performance at work. Remember that it is also important to review the operation manuals and periodically review them. If you have more tips that can be useful to others, do not hesitate to share them with us.
